By sharing progressive ideas and long-term thinking the aim of the Olive Network is to connect populations with positive change makers, rising above division to the empathy and vision of charities, the arts, science and humanities.
Our aim is to create a bridge from the people working hard to make things right to the people who are looking for answers.
In the 'age of the screen' and rapid disinformation the challenge is to amplify voices of reason so that populations can hear them and know there can be a better way. Our belief is that if people could actually see the progress that is possible they would embrace the hope they find within it.
Among the voices here: ’We can either continue on our current path, a treacherous ‘new normal’ and sleepwalk into a dystopian future, or we can wake up and turn things around for the better, for humanity and the planet.' Volker Turk, United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights. ‘We are living at a time in which art is even more important, literature is even more important, and I think we need stories to connect us at an age when we are constantly being pushed into polarisations and artificial tribes.’ Elif Shafak, Female Poets Society
We were recently involved in an exhibition in Palma, Mallorca where the voice became part of the journey of the installation. In times of political hubris, profligacy and ignorance, the need for the arts to extend out further Into civic society is greater than ever.
